Remembering Lord Woodbine @ 90
All are welcome to this event which celebrates the life of an unsung hero. Trinidadian born Harold Phillips served Britain in WWII, was demobbed by the RAF after 1945, but returned on the Empire Windrush in June 1948, and settled in Liverpool. Known then as calypsonian Lord Woodbine, he was the first mentor of The Beatles. Come along and hear the research of Dr James McGrath (Leeds Beckett University).
