Remembering Sam King

He volunteered for the RAF and served King and Country during WWIl, a war veteran at 19, returned to Britain on the Empire Windrush, and became the first Black Mayor of Southwark.

He founded Windrush Day, worked for a fairer society and left a legacy of outstanding service in the community.

Join us as we celebrate a life that exemplified values of courage, integrity, leadership and self-discipline. He would have been 100 had he lived to see February 2026.
